I've been developing with, on, and/or for Unix systems (including Linux) for >25 years:

  • Software components and componentisation, including associated tools; most recently, an idl compiler.
  • Software/hardware co-design (for embedded systems), including processor architecture, fault detection, and designed-in testability (“design for test”).
  • Kernels (Unix and various embedded rtos), including porting, system calls, interrupts and faults (exceptions), threads and components, “security”, device and filesystem drivers, etc.
  • Documentation (both user (customer-facing) and internal) for all of the above.
  • Automated testing for all of the above, and the processes for some of the above.

My work has been at many technological levels, including study and design, implementation and documentation, testing, manufacturing, and deployment, and some of those processes.

I am looking for a technically challenging R&D position, ideally in a small talented team.
